‘The Passing of Time’
This was nearly my shot for yesterday’s ‘Images not words’ but in the end, I opted for the condensation covered window.
I do love how the low morning light picks out this particular grave, coupled with the natural framing provided by the tree.
So rather than let it sit on my hard drive, here it is.
Following on from yesterday’s post, here are a few more I took at Old Roar Gill.
I quite like how these look in black and white.

It’s said that history repeats itself.
It seems that way sometimes.
We are told that we should learn from history.
From our past mistakes.
And for a short time we do.
But mankind is fickle.
History repeats itself.
Doing my 366 project ‘Images not words’ is really pushing me to think about photography and art, to look for interesting things the whole day through. Yesterday was a good day and yielded handful of images I was quite pleased with. Alas, only one per day can go into the project, which forces me to think yet again about which would be the best to choose.
The rest I can upload as a normal blog post.

‘Tidal textures’
With each and every tide comes a new landscape to explore and photograph. Different shapes, different light.
All I need to do is find the best way to capture it.
‘Alignment’
My second post from Bexhill beach.
The thing that initially drew me to this composition was the arrangement of the rocks in the water but when I looked at the sky, that too seemed to almost mimic the shape below.
I usually like to get down low for my shots but for this one, I moved my tripod right into the water so that just the head and camera could be seen above the water line. It was only a shallow pool however, so easy for me to stand in with my wellies on. Alas, the water did pour over the top of my right boot near the end of the shoot though!
A pair of chest waders will be my next photographic purchase.
To achieve this shot and to get the smooth appearance on the water, I used my new ND8 filter coupled with an ND4 graduated filter to help balance the land and sky.
I do love how the smooth appearance on the water helps to give a sense of calm.
