Temporary Print shop

Hi everyone, this is just a quick note to let you know that I have set up a temporary online shop. It’s temporary because I’m taking advantage of Shopify’s 3 month free trial, I don’t expect to have sales of a frequency that would justify an ongoing payment for the service. The shop will disappear on July 10th. I should also mention that I’m using a third party print service as I don’t have the room or funds to set up my own printer, ideally I’d prefer an A2 printer if I were to get one and they’re very costly. I’m using Creativehub for this and they make superb quality products.

There are eight images up at the moment, all A3 on Giclée Hahnemühle Photo Rag but I can add any image you see on my site, just send me an e-mail and I’ll get it sorted for you. You can get to the shop by clicking on the ‘Buy Print’ tab in the menu on my website.

Thank you, take care and stay safe.

In Pictures; The Cyril and Lilian Bishop lifeboat

Today saw the finale of Dee-Day White and Tush Hamilton’s restoration project to bring the Cyril & Lilian Bishop (aka, The Ghost of Dunkirk) lifeboat back to Hastings.
The challenge today was to bring the boat from The Stade on the seafront, up All Saints street to its final resting place opposite All Saints church.

Congratulations to Dee-day and Tush, it really was a tremendous effort by everyone involved.

Here is my record of the event in pictures.

New projects?

I’m beginning to think about how to put groups of my images together into themed projects, or as a starting point to fuel a new series of images. So far I have come up with three working titles for different subjects.

‘The ghosts of forgotten souls’, for my images of abandoned buildings.

‘Once, there were trees’, images made with the idea of being viewed from a future perspective, evoking thoughts on the idea of deforestation and loss of natural habitats.

And finally, ‘Cellular organisms’. Candid street photography concentrating on people and their phones.

These are just starting points at the moment, we’ll have to see what happens from now on.

Thanks for viewing.

Over the Hill at Montefiore

I am very pleased to announce that a selection of 40 photographs from Tim Andrews project ‘Over the Hill’, will be on display at the Montefiore hospital in Hove this coming May.  The exhibition runs from the 5th to 26th May, located in the ground floor reception area. Tim recommends that visitors please view between the hours of 10am to 5PM as it is a working hospital. Most of the photographs will be on show for the first time but I am chuffed for this to be the second appearance of my picture ‘Journeyman’, (the first showing was at Goldsmiths college).

The address is; The Montefiore Hospital, 2 Montefiore Road, Hove, BN3 1RD.

For more information about Tim’s project, please click here.

Here is a link to a BBC culture show feature from 2011, about the project.

I very much hope to get over and see all the great work, I hope you can too.
