Down town

13 images

We had a lazy day yesterday, which was a welcome change.

Wasn’t long before I got the urge to get out of the house though, plus nothing inside was inspiring me to photograph for my 366 project.

Grabbed hat, gloves, coat and camera and set out for a walk down town.

Not the town center where all the shops are of course, but around some of the areas leading into the town.

I took two lenses with me; the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8EX and my Sigma 10-20mm f4-5.6 EX, which I attached first to try to get some different perspectives.

Ended up walking a lot further than I had planned and was properly tired when I arrived home.

Was pleased with some of the shot I came back with.

Hope you like them too.

Rainy China town

Took a trip to London Yesterday for our son’s 13th birthday. The years seem to fly by.

Visited the museum of childhood in Bethnal Green, then headed to China town for a fab evening meal.

The heavens opened.

My camera gear isn’t waterproof but I wasn’t going to let that deter me from grabbing a few shots.

Dried off my camera with a paper tissue and all is fine.

On the beach

Quickly stopped off at the beach at St.Leonards-on-sea yesterday morning.

Got my shot for ‘Images not words’, then had a quick look around to see if there was anything else of interest. Of course there was, I just need more time to have a proper look.

The days are getting longer and now and instead of the pre-dawn light I was blessed a couple of weeks back, today was a bright, clear, crisp start to the day. It was cold though, my hands going numb after just a few minutes.

Got back in the car and put the heater on full whack.

Twenty minutes

‘At rest’

More pics below.

Grabbed a quick twenty minutes photography after dropping my wife at the train station.

The light looked really promising, there way no way I was going to miss it.

I headed straight for Hastings old town and the beach where the fishing fleet resides. Light changes fast, there was no time to lose.

Grabbed my trusty little Fuji X10, my carry everywhere camera, and went about snapping as fast as I could getting the best compositions I could find.

Twenty minutes later and the best of the light gone, I headed back home to sort out the kids for school.

Posted one for Images not Words, below are the best of the rest.

Off the beaten track

‘Off the beaten track’

Innocent or illicit?

Assumption is the mother of all f**k-ups.

Had a short wander around Hastings earlier, saw that the alley behind the Observer building was open. Snapped these two, then went in.

Around the corner I would bump into a fellow photography enthusiast I know from Twitter but had never met.

We had a nice chat then parted company. I still only know him by his Twitter handle.

Walked back round to leave and spotted the two lads from earlier and asked if I could take their picture.

The result is today’s Images not words shot.

 A good day.

‘Forlorn 3’

As the nights draw in.

Darkness is my new friend.

My isolation is real.

In this freezing weather, alone.

My heart begins to slow.

My body grows cold.

No one to keep me warm.

No one to keep me warm.

Spotted these flowers struggling in the frost yesterday while looking for a pic for my 366 project.
