The door? It’s just a Minor problem

I have a confession to make. When I approached the back of the car, the door was still in place. However I was eager to get an interior shot so I tried the door…And it fell off!

I present to you the back end of a Morris Minor Traveller 1000, a car with the back end based on the blueprints of a shed. Couple that with years of neglect and wood rot sets in, and before you know it the thing falls apart. How about that, a car you need to creosote.

I would have loved to have taken a wider view but alas 18mm is the widest I can go and my back was against a wall. Pretty pleased with how this one came out, even if it was slightly encouraged by my heavy handedness.

  1. That old adage holds true here: you can never go wrong shooting a door hanging off its hinge. 🙂

I love the bit of exposed license plate. Adds a bit of tension to the scene.

  2. I have great memories of rotting Morris Minors from my childhood. The garage whose car park was behind our house specialised in renovating them but all the ones that were beyond repair lived out there for us to play inside. I guess I was too puny as a kid to pull any doors off, though.

  3. This is awesome!!! I love cars, I find so much to take in especially when they are in need to TLC… or in some cases a complete restoration… LOL Great capture!
